Project Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage from start to finish our concrete forming activities for our mid- & high-rise building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed within time and budget constraints. The role requires the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, manage project coordinators, work with site supervisors, and effectively communicate with clients and trades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Developer/GC/CM team, architects, engineers, and other professionals to develop construction plans and schedules.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule construction activities, including labour and material requirements and procurement.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and address any issues that may arise.
  • Manage and oversee construction projects from conception to completion, analyze KPIs and adjust plans as necessary to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant architectural and structural drawings.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring they work efficiently and safely.
  • Manage change orders, negotiate contracts, and resolve disputes with subcontractors and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, budgets, change orders and other project documentation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to provide project updates, address concerns, and resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural and structural drawings is a must.
  • Proficient in project management software, such as MS Project, and take-off software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to construction sites as needed.
  • PMP designation is an asset.
  • Experience in concrete forming and bid proposals for mid- and high-rise buildings is an asset.
  • Knowledge of building construction means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications is an asset.
  • Experience or knowledge of Lean methodology is an asset.
